Breakfast: Geek Style

null

This is my delicious breakfast from this morning...kind of looks like Pac-Man's weird distant cousin. Well, he eats healthy anyway:)

I did some hill training today. Found a steep hill about the length of a football field. I went up and down in like a mad woman. The 5k I ran was harder than I expected because it was mostly hills. I want to be fast on any terrain so I am training on grass, gravel, pavement, hills, shaggy carpet, you name it. I was kidding about the last one....
Anyway, at this point I am running 9:50 minute miles and would love to be able to run 9 minute miles and eventually 8 minute miles. It's official, I'm addicted.
Happy Monday!

For Reals!

"For Reals!" That's what my sister says when someone doesn't believe one of her stories.... I promise this is going somewhere.

Couldn't really think of a subject for this post. I just have a lot of thoughts in my head, many of which are in no way related. First and foremost I have been thinking of my future. I am currently reading Jillian Michael's new book, "Unlimited". It's great so far and has got me thinking. I have only read half of the first chapter, but it has already pulled me in. Jillian basically says that you can achieve your dreams and you shouldn't settle for anything less. Instead of talking and dreaming about it, you have to make a plan and then put that plan into action. Yeah, millions of people have said the same kind of thing, but her word struck a chord with me. Ever since I was a kid I have dreamed big. I am not about to stop dreaming now, but I want to start DOING as well.
I have 2 beautiful children, and they are even more of a motivation for me to be successful and happy in life. I don't want to be just content in life. I want to be all out happy, healthy, and motivated. I want to help other people, to change the world around me for the better. I want to be a pillar of strength for my little ones, and an example to them.

So, I will be sharing my goals later on but for now all you need to now is that I WILL achieve them. For reals! :)

Have a great rest of the weekend!!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like...

I friggin' love Christmas. That's really the only way I can put it. It is my all time favorite holiday. It makes me feel all warm, fuzzy and happy inside. This will be my first Christmas with both my babies so it is extra special.
Fifi is already a total Christmas baby. I was out shopping the other day and brought her to the holiday aisle. She was entranced by all the lit up Christmas trees. Her eyes got all big and happy.

Goober has been learning so fast. He has added a couple words to his vocabulary in the past weeks. He now says Go!, don't, kiss, this, and juice.
His current obsession is matchbox cars. This little guy could play with them for hours. He has over a hundred, so he is always carrying a couple around in his chubby little hands. He lines them up in rows, drives them of tables, and he has his own humming car noise. I love when he lays on his tummy and drives them around on the floor, watching them very seriously. I am so glad I have a little boy:)

Happy December!!!

Just Because

Took Goober to a play date yesterday and Fifi to one today. They both had a good time, especially Goober. He loved playing basketball with the other toddlers and playing in a huge sandbox full of dry noodles. I love to see him play and get along with other children- it's nice to have a such a friendly kid!
Fifi's playdate was much less exciting, considering all the children in her group can't walk or crawl yet. They all just sat there and drooling on brightly colored toys and getting fussy when they got put on their tummy. It was pretty darn cute.
There was a dad there who was Asian and had a thick Irish accent, and a little Irish fisherman cap on. A new mom with the sweetest little chubby 4 month old boy. She told us that today was the first time she had taken him out of the house alone and she had stopped the car 3 times during a 15 minute drive to check on him. Brand new mommies are adorable, aren't they?
The weather is beautiful right now. I know it won't stay this way for too long so I have been doing all my running outside rather than on the tready this week. Feels like I'm working a a completely different part of my calf muscles. Feels great!

Goodbye Pregnant Lady Pants!

*Does Happy Dance*
I said farewell to my stupid pregnant lady pants today!
So happy they are gone from my life forever.
I went to put them on this morning after my jog and lo and behold, they were to big!
I had to throw a pair out last week as well because they kept falling down when I went to the playground with my offspring. It really is a great feeling to get rid of those darn pants. So I am at my pre-pregnancy weight of my daughter, and now I need to get to my pre-pregnancy weight of my son- I was 125lbs. I can do it!!!
I have lost 25 pounds since September. I don't like to gloat but may I?
Okay:) I am a machine!!!

Sometimes you have to be your own hero...

Holy Moly

I just registered for a 5k race! Very excited! Omg...I can't even believe I just did that! I'm excited. Can you tell?
I know I can do it, because I run that distance every day now. I just can't believe how far I have come. I started running again in September. I could barely walk that far, let alone run a freaking mile! Now I run a minimum of 3 miles a day, and after this 5k will have my eye on the half marathon in February. And then, who knows? Bandit at the Boston Marathon in April?

I know those are pretty big goals, but I have come so far in just a couple months. I finally got the courage to leave and end an abusive relationship 3 months ago. I am finally realizing that I capable of doing ANYTHING I set my mind to. My happiness is important not only for me but for my kids.
I can achieve anything I want to and by golly jolly, I will!

I will leave you with this quote by the lovely Audrey Hepburn

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

My First Born

I found an old cell phone of mine, with pictures I haven't seen in a long time. They brought back memories of being a brand new mama. Not knowing what the heck I was doing, but loving every moment of it. I called the pediatrician nearly 20 times during his first week. I must have called my mom at least 1,000 times!
My little boy, Goober changed my life so drastically ,it's crazy. I never felt so much love for anyone or anything until that moment when I saw the heartbeat at my first ultrasound.
So..I just wanted to make a little post about my son. I used to call him Baby J on my here- but then he grew up! Now he is Goober, my little ray of sunshine.

I'm such a sappy mama...
