Busy Bee

Hello! Just checking in:) I am still alive, but I have been so busy the past couple of weeks.
Christmas preparations are in full swing! We have been making cookies, making homemade stockings ( they turned out darling),
decorating gingerbread houses.... My kiddos are having a blast! The house is all lit up inside and out. It's a great feeling:) I can't wait for Christmas!!

I have soooo many pictures, but I can't post them today. I will post them soon!
Goober is a little artist. At his play dates they have a craft table that you can do holiday activities at. He is always the first one at the craft table...last week he made a darling little Christmas card to send to the old folks home. He gets very serious when he is coloring:) Afterwards he is always covered in marker scribbles, but at least he enjoys it.

Fif has discovered that when she cries mama comes running! She isn't happy now unless she is in my arms or the baby wrap. She is such a little diva!
I have been running everyday as usual. I have been trying different routes. I think the change in scenery is just what I needed. I have increased my mileage and I am feeling stronger than ever. I actually began a Tae Bo program that I am psyched about! I have lost 45 pounds since September- I feel a millions times better! I have so much more energy and confidence. I completely changed my diet too. I don't drink any soda or juice. I have pretty much cut all processed food out of my diet. I eat veggies, fruits, whole grains, legumes, fish, tofu, salsa, hummus, cheese, sushi, almond butter and some kinds of veggie burgers. I love coconut milk and almond milk. I actually feel like my whole palate has changed. The things I used to eat now taste too salty, or else to sweet. Before, I rarely ate veggies with every meal. Now, it's a must!

Anyway..... enough about food!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!!!

Hello Again

It's been so long old friend. I have missed you but until now haven't felt okay enough to pick you up and play. I am finding myself again, and I'm ready to make my own music:) Let's do this!

Breakfast: Geek Style

null

This is my delicious breakfast from this morning...kind of looks like Pac-Man's weird distant cousin. Well, he eats healthy anyway:)

I did some hill training today. Found a steep hill about the length of a football field. I went up and down in like a mad woman. The 5k I ran was harder than I expected because it was mostly hills. I want to be fast on any terrain so I am training on grass, gravel, pavement, hills, shaggy carpet, you name it. I was kidding about the last one....
Anyway, at this point I am running 9:50 minute miles and would love to be able to run 9 minute miles and eventually 8 minute miles. It's official, I'm addicted.
Happy Monday!

For Reals!

"For Reals!" That's what my sister says when someone doesn't believe one of her stories.... I promise this is going somewhere.

Couldn't really think of a subject for this post. I just have a lot of thoughts in my head, many of which are in no way related. First and foremost I have been thinking of my future. I am currently reading Jillian Michael's new book, "Unlimited". It's great so far and has got me thinking. I have only read half of the first chapter, but it has already pulled me in. Jillian basically says that you can achieve your dreams and you shouldn't settle for anything less. Instead of talking and dreaming about it, you have to make a plan and then put that plan into action. Yeah, millions of people have said the same kind of thing, but her word struck a chord with me. Ever since I was a kid I have dreamed big. I am not about to stop dreaming now, but I want to start DOING as well.
I have 2 beautiful children, and they are even more of a motivation for me to be successful and happy in life. I don't want to be just content in life. I want to be all out happy, healthy, and motivated. I want to help other people, to change the world around me for the better. I want to be a pillar of strength for my little ones, and an example to them.

So, I will be sharing my goals later on but for now all you need to now is that I WILL achieve them. For reals! :)

Have a great rest of the weekend!!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like...

I friggin' love Christmas. That's really the only way I can put it. It is my all time favorite holiday. It makes me feel all warm, fuzzy and happy inside. This will be my first Christmas with both my babies so it is extra special.
Fifi is already a total Christmas baby. I was out shopping the other day and brought her to the holiday aisle. She was entranced by all the lit up Christmas trees. Her eyes got all big and happy.

Goober has been learning so fast. He has added a couple words to his vocabulary in the past weeks. He now says Go!, don't, kiss, this, and juice.
His current obsession is matchbox cars. This little guy could play with them for hours. He has over a hundred, so he is always carrying a couple around in his chubby little hands. He lines them up in rows, drives them of tables, and he has his own humming car noise. I love when he lays on his tummy and drives them around on the floor, watching them very seriously. I am so glad I have a little boy:)

Happy December!!!

Just Because

Took Goober to a play date yesterday and Fifi to one today. They both had a good time, especially Goober. He loved playing basketball with the other toddlers and playing in a huge sandbox full of dry noodles. I love to see him play and get along with other children- it's nice to have a such a friendly kid!
Fifi's playdate was much less exciting, considering all the children in her group can't walk or crawl yet. They all just sat there and drooling on brightly colored toys and getting fussy when they got put on their tummy. It was pretty darn cute.
There was a dad there who was Asian and had a thick Irish accent, and a little Irish fisherman cap on. A new mom with the sweetest little chubby 4 month old boy. She told us that today was the first time she had taken him out of the house alone and she had stopped the car 3 times during a 15 minute drive to check on him. Brand new mommies are adorable, aren't they?
The weather is beautiful right now. I know it won't stay this way for too long so I have been doing all my running outside rather than on the tready this week. Feels like I'm working a a completely different part of my calf muscles. Feels great!

Goodbye Pregnant Lady Pants!

*Does Happy Dance*
I said farewell to my stupid pregnant lady pants today!
So happy they are gone from my life forever.
I went to put them on this morning after my jog and lo and behold, they were to big!
I had to throw a pair out last week as well because they kept falling down when I went to the playground with my offspring. It really is a great feeling to get rid of those darn pants. So I am at my pre-pregnancy weight of my daughter, and now I need to get to my pre-pregnancy weight of my son- I was 125lbs. I can do it!!!
I have lost 25 pounds since September. I don't like to gloat but may I?
Okay:) I am a machine!!!

Sometimes you have to be your own hero...

Holy Moly

I just registered for a 5k race! Very excited! Omg...I can't even believe I just did that! I'm excited. Can you tell?
I know I can do it, because I run that distance every day now. I just can't believe how far I have come. I started running again in September. I could barely walk that far, let alone run a freaking mile! Now I run a minimum of 3 miles a day, and after this 5k will have my eye on the half marathon in February. And then, who knows? Bandit at the Boston Marathon in April?

I know those are pretty big goals, but I have come so far in just a couple months. I finally got the courage to leave and end an abusive relationship 3 months ago. I am finally realizing that I capable of doing ANYTHING I set my mind to. My happiness is important not only for me but for my kids.
I can achieve anything I want to and by golly jolly, I will!

I will leave you with this quote by the lovely Audrey Hepburn

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

My First Born

I found an old cell phone of mine, with pictures I haven't seen in a long time. They brought back memories of being a brand new mama. Not knowing what the heck I was doing, but loving every moment of it. I called the pediatrician nearly 20 times during his first week. I must have called my mom at least 1,000 times!
My little boy, Goober changed my life so drastically ,it's crazy. I never felt so much love for anyone or anything until that moment when I saw the heartbeat at my first ultrasound.
So..I just wanted to make a little post about my son. I used to call him Baby J on my here- but then he grew up! Now he is Goober, my little ray of sunshine.

I'm such a sappy mama...

Snow Day

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Happy Sunday

I hope your day was awesome! Ours was! Our power was out for a bit because of the snow storm, but we had a blast anyway. We made burgers out on the grill, played Cranium, and played in the snow( obviously). I kind of like it when the power is out. It's a reminder of how fortunate we are to have electricity and warm water, but it is also a reminder of how fun it can be with no Xbox, Television, or Internet. We have a wood stove so our house was nice and toasty!! Honestly, the worse part about it for me was not being able to use my treadmill. I did my strength training instead, and soon after the power came on. So I hopped on that and ran 3 miles. It's weird but running is like my drug. I swear I get high from it.

Snowballs and Shutterfly

It's snowing already! It's not even November and the flurries are here!
Goober is so excited! He keeps running and looking out the window.
It was late when it started so, my brother brought in a snowball for Goober to see. He looked at it for a minute, then leaned forward and took a bite! That was not how I thought he would react. I thought he would at least touch it first. Maybe he remembers it from when he was 10 months old...I doubt it.
Baby Fifi has a cold. I hate when babies get sick:(

I created a photo book on Shutterfly a couple weeks ago and received it yesterday! I really love how it turned out. Mine is an 8x8 with 20 pages, but you can pick from many sizes and however many pages you want. You can pick from a variety of backgrounds, stickers, fonts..it was so much fun! I am usually old fashioned and prefer regular scrap-booking, but this is a nice alternative and a faster one. I would definitely recommend it. I haven't used any other photo book services so I am not sure how Shutterfly compares to others, but I will be using them again for sure!

Mama Love

Found this darling quote on etsy . It is soooo beautiful!!!!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Mine has been busy! I have been trying to stay outside as much as possible, because soon it will be too cold for my little ones. My toddler would stay out all day if he could. We have a tree swing, and as he swings he yells "Eeeeee!" like the little piggy in that one commercial. Geico?
I soooooo love him:)

Happy Sunday!

We hope your day is awesome!!!!

And that you can rock nerd glasses like baby Fifi Can!
Happy Sunday!

Feel the Love

I have been stepping out of my comfort zone lately, doing things I was to shy or nervous to do. Silly things, like getting a whole new hair do, buying crazy glittery eye shadow. And more serious things like talking about my feelings to my family and being more assertive.
Things are feeling so much better, and I feel so much more ALIVE than I have in the past year.
Thanks for all the kind word and comments you have left me. I know my blog has been a bit unpredictable in the past ( kind of like my life),but I'm gonna stick with it! Who know what's in store for me!

My Little Family Update

We found a about a month and a half ago that my little girl has torticollis, which means her neck is tighter on one side than the other. We caught it early so it should be gone by the time she is one. I take her to physical therapy every week and she has already made a lot of progress. I am still worried, but I have done my research and I think it is completely under control. We do our little workouts several times a day. She is my little trooper.

My son, J is doing great. He is learning more and more every day. His current obsession is Elmo!! I got him some Elmo pjs that he loves to wear. He is such a happy boy.
I'm blessed to have these two precious munchkins:)

Every Day I'm...Running!

First I want to mention that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A month where thousands of people all over the county come together to mourn those who have died because of DV, celebrate those who have survived it, and help people who are living with to make it stop.

On another note...
I ran 11 miles in 4 days!!! I am soooo happy. That is more than I ever thought I could do. When I first started working out 1 month and a half ago, I could barely survive a mile. Now, I can run 3. It feels awesome! I am planning on doing a 5k soon.

Hey There- Me Again

It's the story of my life.
It's getting better, though.
I am a 22 year old single mom of two AMAZING children.
They are my life.
I have had this blog for almost 4 years, and I have blogged on and off.
Now, more than ever I want to keep a record of my little family's life.

I had 2 babies very close together and that delayed many of my goals, including college.
Now, I want to do everything!
I'm going to start school again, and make my kiddos proud.
I'm going to get back in shape and be one hot mama!
See you soon!

♥Baby Luvs♥

I have not been on here in a LONG while....I've been sooo busy lately and I feel bad because that always seems to be the excuse. The most important thing that has happened since we last talked is the birth of my darling baby girl, Sophia Angela. I am so grateful for my kids. They mean the world to me. Whatever happens, if I'm feeling down or sad, just seeing them makes my day. My life is for them. I've learned a lot in the past few months. I feel like it's taken a long time to finally see through the haze

Updates:)

First off: My little baby is becoming a little boy! I cannot believe how fast he is growing. And he never ceases to amaze me. He learns sooo much every day. His thing this week is constant kisses and acting like every electronic object is a phone. He has the cutest sense of humor and dances every time he hears even one note of music. I am truly blessed to be his mama.

I found out this week that I cannot even attempt to give birth naturally this time around. I have a c-section scheduled for the end of June. What I am being told is that I can't physically have a natural birth right now, and attempting it could be life threatening. TMI- I guess my pelvis is too small. My son only weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces, and I still wasn't able to deliver him.

I am upset about this, but I really don't have a choice! It just makes me think what I would have done centuries ago. I probably would have died in childbirth. When I was younger I always prayed I could have been born in Laura Ingalls time. Not Anymore!!

Oh, well. I just can't wait to meet my little girl. I am uber excited.

Happy Easter- Belated

I hope everyone's Easter was wonderful! Mine was! We had a midnight service at the church. It was beautiful!
I am now 30 weeks pregnant. Very round and VERY tired! I am ready to meet my little girl.
I am now a stay-at-home, which is something very different for me. I love all the time I get to spend with my little Baby J though! It's amazing!

I promise to start writing more now. Our computer had a low disk space virus for about 2 months. We could log on for about 10 minutes and then everything would be in html because it was running out of memory. Very weird virus. But, it's gone. And I am back!
